Next-Gen People Counter for Public Spaces.
BizLab is now launching the next generation of people counters – an AI-powered system designed for public institutions such as museums, libraries, and other civic spaces to measure and analyze visitor flows in real time without violating GDPR.
Using locally processed AI technology, the system can detect gender, age, and emotional expression – without storing any biometric or personally identifiable data. Each visitor is assigned an anonymous session ID, and the data is then presented in aggregated and anonymized form.
This represents a quantum leap compared to traditional people counters. The technology enables data-driven decisions around staffing, opening hours, and offerings – all without compromising privacy.
The system opens up entirely new possibilities for public organizations to understand which age groups visit their venues, when they arrive, how long they stay, and how they move through the space – all without collecting personal data. This marks a paradigm shift in how we think about data in public environments.
The next step is integrating BizLab’s CMS system, which allows digital signage content to adapt based on the demographics present in the space. At a museum, for example, a screen next to an artwork could display different messages depending on whether a school group, a family with children, or a group of seniors approaches.
We’re building a system where the screen becomes as intelligent as the audience in front of it. It’s not about collecting data – it’s about creating relevance.
